The Hybrid-Controlled ferro is designed for those applications where regulation of the charger’s output is required, such as manufacturer’s specific profiles for sealed batteries. Controlled ferro type chargers have been in use for many years in the telecommunications and utility markets and standout for their fail-safe, yet controllable, output capabilities.

 

The Ferro Magnetics controlled ferro chargers are designed  for a 5% finish rate at 2.6 VPC(+/- 1%) with a line variation of -10%/+6%. The charge control interacts with the battery and the charger output ends when the battery reaches its perfect fully charged state DvDt/ DiDt.  The controls are factory-set for automatic equalize but a manual equalize may be performed at any time with the push of a button. The controlled ferro line is standard with the 272 control.  The charging profile is pre-set by selectable algorithms within the control board. The algorithms are based on battery manufacturers' charge profile specifications. UL & ULc listed. 

CP

100% in 8 hours. The CP line is designed to charge a 100% discharged sealed or lead acid battery of matched size within 8 hours. The start rate at nominal AC line is regulated at 18 amps output for each 100 amp-hour size of battery rating. The finish rate is regulated at  5 amp output (standard for flooded battery algorithm) for each 100 amp-hour size of the charger rating at 2.46 VPC. Available in single phase (CPS) or three phase (CPT).  Full range of input voltages available including 50Hz.   UL ULc listed.

CR

100% in 6 hours.  HYBRID-CONTROLLED FERRORESONANT  OPPORTUNITY CHARGER. Keeps your truck working throughout a double shift without changing the battery. The CR line is designed to charge a 100% discharged sealed or lead acid battery of matched size within 6 hours. The start rate at nominal AC line is regulated at 25 amps output for each 100 amp-hour size of battery rating. The finish rate is regulated at  5 amp output (standard for flooded battery algorithm) for each 100 amp-hour size of the charger rating at 2.46 VPC. Available in single phase (CRS) or three phase (CRT).  Full range of input voltages available including 50Hz.   UL ULc listed.

CFD

HYBRID-CONTROLLED FERRORESONANT OPPORTUNITY FAST CHARGER. The Ferro Magnetics Fast Charger Technology utilizes a controlled ferro with a charging algorithm to reduce battery-charging time by up to 80% on an 80% discharged battery. The charger is programmed to have a constant current output of up to 50 amps per hundred amp-hour size of the battery until the battery reaches 80% state of charge (2.38 volts per cell). The second phase of charge will hold the output at the 80% voltage until the output current flattens out or drops to a 5% finish rate. If the 5% level is reached, the charge cycle will continue until the output voltage flattens out (dv/dt termination methodology). Full range of input voltages available including 50Hz.  UL ULc listed.
